the wind's in my face, but I can't breathe in, breathe out

There's only a couple weeks more of classes left! I'm so excited for the summer and bike riding, bonfires, shorts, and carefree nights under the stars. I haven't gotten into the summer-dressing vibe yet (as you can tell?). The mornings, when I'm out on campus and at the bus stop, are just too cold for shorts and tee shirts. But then by midday when I'm at work, it heats up to 60 degrees!

These pants are really, really strange. They're purple/grey/brown (aka not a real colour) and also not a real fabric. But they're good for wearing deep colours and for when I just want to be all slouchy. They were also only like $7 on the Forever 21 sales rack. And I can never give up a good deal. I bought some jeans at H&M for $5 today. And a Twins jersey for 50% (don't hate on my team!!).

I did some weird layering here, with a long cardigan and a cropped blazer. It made me feel like I was in the Revolutionary War. Legitimately. It's the colours and gold buttons and skinny(ish) legs with big old boots, I believe. I felt like I was off to shoot down some lobsterbacks.

Also as the school year comes to a close, I have prom! On the last day of finals (though technically my last final is 4 days previous to it). I got my dress and I found a date and all I need now are shoes. Anyone know a good place to buy size US4 heels? I'll post more about this later, right now I'm going to go eat some homemade apple sauce!

hair

My hair is getting really thick and long. And not in a good way...in a half helmet, half mullet type way. I'm going to get my hair cut sometime in the next couple of weeks, and I need input.

Yes, I'm a Kingdom Hearts nerd. Favourite video game ever. Kairi is the cutest, and I love her hair. I want this colour, and this cut (which is, admittedly, pretty close to what I have now).

This is also super rad. I've been wanting to dye my hair a reddish colour for a while now (not this bright though, more brownish). I think I will this summer. But her hair is so cool. Do you think I could pull it off or am I not hipster enough? Haha...

Those are the only two cuts I found. Yes, even after Googling "cool short haircuts." Google, you failed me. Any suggestions for cuts, colours, etc ? And photos would be great! I also have prom coming up in early May so I have to have good hair for that. (:

watch what you feel, they'll say it's not real

So it's kind of funny that I say "Oh yes, I'm loving the flowy layers and neutrel colours for spring" and then I show up wearing a motorcycle jacket and Mickey Mouse sweater. Though I guess because it's still that awkward phase between winter and spring, it shouldn't really count, now should it?

The jacket is from H&M's $15 off all jackets & blazers sale. I'd been wanting a motorcycle jacket for a very, very, very long time so this seemed like a perfect excuse to get one. Of course it's almost summer and a jacket won't be needed. I love when I buy clothing out of season.

However, these shoes are coompletely in season!! I bought these saddle shoes at Payless last weekend for $10 (with a coupon). They're a size 2.5 kids, I think the shoes run a bit big there...? Saddle shoes are awesome. I used to wear them when I was just a little kid. That being said, I also wore Doc Martens, jelly sandals (with socks, duh), and clogs. Obviously I was a very fashionable little kid.

The red hoodie is the only thing that I own from American Apparel. I got it for $0.67 at the second hand store. I think there's this whole idea that hoodies aren't "fashionable" or whatever, but even if they aren't, they're still "stylish" and great for layering. It's still a bit too cold out for the jacket, so throwing a hoodie on underneath makes it appropriate for bus stop lingering and class-to-class campus scurrying. Plus it adds a nice dose of colour. Black & red together are lovely. Always.

I don't have another day off until Easter, and even after Easter I don't have a day off. Paychecks will be huge, but I'll be worn thin. Anyways, got to go do some writing class work before leaving for work!
