good enough for me & my bobby mcgee

These jeans are pretty much my favourite jeans right now. After having my legs strangled by skinnys for the past few years, it's nice to be able to kick back in some loose, soft jeans. Plus, they cost me 50 cents at a garage sale down the alley. They're a size 0 long, so besides falling down my butt if I don't have something holding them up, I have to roll them up a foot and a half to avoid them dragging on the ground.

The shirt was my sister's. It has Janis Joplin on it, who is one of my biggest heroes (yeah, I know that she OD'd, but really...who didn't?). I'm still waiting for someone to make a biopic on her. Anyways, my sister does not like Janis, so I stole the shirt (okay, she left it behind when she unofficially moved out). The shirt is totally creepy, but whatever. My father bought me a Janis Joplin CD for my birthday, but I never listen to it because she sounds so much better on vinyl.

My aunt gave me the bag for free. She was selling it in a garage sale, I told her I liked it, and so she let me have it. I bought the Greek fisherman's hat at a vintage store a few weeks ago. It was on Alexandre's & mine third trip. It brings out the Greek in me (it's only like 1/8, but it's there!). I'm also wearing the ever-trustworthy suspenders & a car necklace that I made. I still remember buying that car at a garage sale for 1 cent when I was really little. This seems to be a garage sale outfit, hmmm......

So that's the low-down on the outfit. This will be my last outfit post for a while. I get my wisdom teeth removed on Monday and I'm freaking out. I'll be doing some updates on a few things I recently bought for back to school....which reminds me, John Hughes died.

If you know anything about me, then you'll know that '80s movies are some of my favourite. I love Molly Ringwald, John Cusack, & Anthony Michael Hall. So obviously, it's quite a tragedy for the man behind Sixteen Candles, Pretty in Pink, Breakfast Club, National Lampoon's Vacation, and many others to die. In addition, he was the mastermind behind some childhood favourites such as Home Alone and Flubber. I'm still totally bummed out. Anyways, it's given me time to reflect, and I've decided that Sixteen Candles is my favourite John Hughes flick. The fashion, the love story, the comedy, the I'd-shit-twice-and-die line and clean-close-shave line hidden in the choir singing.
The runner-up would have to be Pretty in Pink. I still find her prom dress ridiculously ugly, but Duckie is a style inspiration.
Anyways, this has turned out to be pretty long. I guess I've had a lot to say. I spent the day at the beach and came home to stuff my face with nachos, so I really have nothing to say about that. The tornado sirens have been going off like crazy tonight which is sort of exciting. No tornado, though. Anyways, I'm going to go eat ice cream and watch Audrey Hepburn movies.
