San Francisco

It was rainy out this morning so I decided to stay in and have a photo shoot with myself. I had had plans to go on a bike ride afterwards and wanted to wear something crazy for biking around the neighbourhood in. Thus, I put on these crazy sequin shorts that I bought last October at Up Six Vintage in Saint Paul. I hardly ever wear them because heck, let's face it, they're not exactly practical. They're also maroon and gold, which is my university's colours, and have flowers, checkers, and random patches of black sequins all over them. They're bizarre to say the least, but a shopper in the store absolutely insisted that I buy them, so I did. I am easily swayed.
I'm also wearing the black leather vest that I've been featuring constantly on the blog for the past couple of weeks. I can't help it. It's a good addition to my wardrobe, which is why I picked it up last May in Taos, New Mexico. All the workers in the leather shop were amazed that I fit into all the kid's clothes. I don't know why! I'm teeny tiny, it's never much of a shock to me.... In fact, it's a blessing; Kids' clothes are half the price of adults'.
I made the flower crown this morning. I had went to Michael's and bought loads of flowers and other things. Then, of course, I let them sit in the corner of my room for a couple months. I've been (for whatever reason) forcing myself to watch Teen Mom lately. I don't know why, but I just can't get into it. Maybe I am already too old for it, but all the characters are just dumb and have no communication skills, which is the root of all their problems. It drives me nuts and I simply cannot put up with watching it anymore. Back to That '70s Show, I think. Anyways, through all of that, I was going to say that I made this crown while watching Teen Mom, since I needed something to do in order to not be bored out of my mind watching 18 year old girls yell at their boyfriends.
I've been really angry lately. People are driving me nuts and my job is liable to be the death of me. I've been working the same job for the past 2 and a half years, and I really just need a break. All week I've been terrified that I'd be fired for being cranky with guests. The only thing that seems to snap me out of this funk is being away from work and away from people. Last night when I got home, I was in such a bad mood that the only reasonable thing to do seemed to be to watch Christmas movies and eat chocolate ice cream.
My Thursday night plans are to do pretty much the same thing: watch Christmas movies. For me, there is nothing happier than Christmas. It lifts my spirits to tremendous heights, and so, when I'm feeling really down, I listen to Christmas music. When I'm feeling really, really low, I watch Christmas movies. And so, last night I snuggled down to watch Home Alone and tonight I'm going to do the same with White Christmas.
Anyways, I'm all talked out now and already getting very excited to watch another Christmas movie, so please enjoy the following photos, free of my chitter-chatter in between:
Lastly, tomorrow night I will be a special guest at Ridgedale Center, doing a presentation on trends for back to school teens. If you live in the area, come and say hello! I've never done an event like this before, so I'm a tad nervous. All the same, it's better than working like I usually do on Friday nights!

I absolutely love your sequined shorts! Maroon and gold were my high school colors way back when. I'm quite a fan of gold things. I also love your floral crown! It almost matches your tattoo! That's so cool that you can fit into childrens' leather apparel and tops. I'm small too, but my rib cage/boobs don't allow much buttoning in kids' clothes haha

Great flower crown and beautiful pictures! I haven't heard of "Teen Mom" but it sounds like how i feel about that "Bachelorette" show. Everyone i know watches it and loves it and i tried to watch it once and i felt like my brain was leaking out my ear. Not that i don't watch tons of other dumb shows...

Chloe, you are hilariously awesome. How inspired am I by your ability to keep yourself company and do the things you genuinely enjoy, on a whim? So very inspired. That flower crown is awesome and is really reminding me of photography, maybe in the early 1900's? How in the world did you make that? I love that you said you have been "forcing yourself to watch Teen Mom" maybe it's to give you a break from That 70's Show (which btw, Mila [who is my doppelganger...supposedly. Maybe? I wish so.] and Ashton?! Have you heard about that?) but it's funny that you're forcing yourself to watch it, but it sucks. Glad I'm not the only one with that relationship with reality TV. Anyway, sorry for this long obnoxious comment, I'm just a fan of what you write and a lot of it resonates with me.

One other thing: awesome shorts. Man, I want to wear stuff like that. Home Alone is the BEST, anytime. And my favorite picture is the second one in the last set. Gorgeous! That's like five other things. Dang.
